Bernd-B Posted January 18, 2023 Share #1 Â Posted January 18, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Dear all, has anybody used Starry Landscape Stacker with TIFF exported out of C1 and taken with an Leica SL2 so far? I always get the error message "unable to process" in the align step (finding the stars and the sky works perfectly)? Best regards Bernd
Advertisement Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 Hi Bernd-B, Take a look here Leica SL2 and Starry Landscape Stacker. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Bernd-B Posted January 23, 2023 Author Share #2  Posted January 23, 2023 I have still no idea what the issue was. Pictures of a Sony a1 work perfectly in Starry Landscape Stacker when combing 20 Tiffs (16 bits), with pictures of the Leica SL2 with the Super-Elmar 16-35 at 16mm and open aperture, Starry Landscape Stacker accepts 20 Tiffs in 8 bit only. Nevertheless, it work in that way: Best regards Bernd Welcome, dear visitor! kobra Posted January 24, 2023 Share #3  Posted January 24, 2023 Just so I understand... the only way that Starry Landscape Stacker will accept the Leica SL2 images was in TIFF 8 bit, but it would generate the error with 16 bit TIFFs? Have you tried using Lightroom, or another editor to create the TIFF files? BTW, great image! Thanks! Brad
helged Posted January 24, 2023 Share #4  Posted January 24, 2023 Have only experience with Lightroom, but no problem to export tiff-files in 16 bit for processing in Starry Landscape Stacker. This holdes for images from Leica SL2, SL2-S and S3, as well as Lumix S5.
Bernd-B Posted January 24, 2023 Author Share #5 Â Posted January 24, 2023 @kobra: yes, your understanding is correct @kobra and helged: Many thanks, I will try it with Lightroom (just have an old 6.14 license, but that should work for a test). Many thanks Bernd
