dpattinson Posted October 18, 2007 Share #1 Posted October 18, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm hoping someone who knows a bit more about PS can help me out. I have been converting M8 files from RAW into TIFF using C1 LE. I end up with about a 60mb tiff, which I then finish editing in PS Elements 4. The resulting PS files are huge, from 30 up to over 100 Mb. I'm sure there must be some way to compress them. I've been saving them with all the layers intact, since I sometimes want to go back and tweak an image. Is it possible to retain layers and reduce the file size - or do I need to flatten then out? Thanks in advance, David.
Advertisement Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 Hi dpattinson, Take a look here Compressing PS files?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
35mmSummicron Posted October 19, 2007 Share #2 Posted October 19, 2007 you can save layered TIFF files and use LZW compression. LZW is a lossless, data compression so there will be no ill effects to image quality. i use this all the time. hope this helps. /a
