Thanks for the kind words Chip 🙂 I was out for a walk in this area and more or less stumbled on this opportunity. I first noticed the seeds and that it would be a nice contrast to either the ground or the horizon, but then I noticed the stem of the plants against the ground and wondered if that would offer a good contrast as well.

It's stopped down to F8 or thereabouts for relative sharpness of the foreground as well as the background. I wasn't too sure it would work though as I had to tilt the focus quite a bit and couldn't lift it to exclude the foreground to avoid a blurriness. I can't remember the shutter speed but I wasn't overly conserned about movement of the flowers as there was no wind.

I decided against using any vignetting or dodge and burn because the motive has so much structure.
