Advertisement (gone after registration)

My leica T cannot keep the date and time whenever replace the battery, it will reset the time to 2014. Anyone know if leica T has an internal battery for the system clock ,  or just used capacitor ?  I could not find the battery from the circuit board

According to Leica, and your owner's manual it has (like many/most electronics) an internal battery that should hold your settings for 2-5 days.  Straight out of the owner's manual -  "settings are retained for around 2 days thanks to the built-in back-up battery. However, they then have to be reset." -  

So, if you're removing the battery properly, with the power turned off, and your settings aren't holding (after a full reset and set up) then, my guess, is that your internal battery is kaput. It may need repaired.

It's likely soldered and not a regular button cell.

In the UK, David Slater can probably replace the internal battery:
