Leica customer service (again)

I have read on this forum about a lot of issues with Leica Solms customer service. I was scared for sending my new M8 to them, but the backfocus problem was there on all my 3 Lux - 35, 50 and 75. So, almost 3 months ago (after one week of using my M8) I have send my stuff to Solms, my camera for backfocusing and my lenses for coding. And the battery for replacement (after 3-4 charges it not shows on the camera that it was fully charged and can keep only for 80-100 shots). It stays there almost a month, I received first 2 lenses (35 and 50). After 2-3 weeks I received the camera and the 75 - those was lost somewhere in Hungary - one of the Leica employee have mistaken writing the address. I tested again the camera on romanian dealer store (where I bought it) and the backfocus problem was still there. I was very-very angry, my local dealer spent almost one hour at telephone with somebody in Solms arguing; I wrote an e-mail to Leica after 2 days telling them that I will not keep the camera and I will not pay for 3 lens coding and also that I will write on all the forums how bad service they have. I received an e-mail from them in which they apologize for the situation asking to send the camera and the lenses again. As a bonus I will not pay for the coding of 3 lenses and also for focus repair on my 75 mm. I said ok, and I send the camera and all 3 lenses back to check all the stuff again.

And today, all my equipment is at my home, working perfectly! Plus, another bonus from Leica - 2 spare batteries and another charger!

I think that all the bonuses they give me it was enough to forget the disappointment of not using my lenses for 3 months.

That was my first experience with Leica service.

well, nice for your. as for me, i paid 1200.- euro for coding and fixing focus on some of my lenses, as a result none of them is focussing correctly at aprox. 8-10meters (and max. aperture), infinity focus is not working as well. leica promised me to handle my m8 and lenses now with priority (last time it took around 3 weeks) which is for sure nice, just wondering how some have to pay and some dont have...maybe i should complain harder. and no, i dont need any aditional charger or batteries cause i have enough ;)

on the other side i'm chasing a frankenfinder since it was announced and cant get any here in germany. even leica cant tell me when or where to get one. and again no, i dont want the wate, simply because i have the elmarit 21mm and a 2.8/15mm zeiss.

You are another clear example of what Leica is all about. What makes leica a different company is that if something is wrong, they will do everything in their power to make it right. It takes time but they always get it right at the end.
