Bo_Lorentzen Posted October 20, 2007 Share #61 Â Posted October 20, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Probably its premature to make any judgments based on the "buzz" on dpreview or anywhere else. over the years I have seen forums deplore new cameras as a manufactures biggest mistakes ever, and then a few years later refer to them as benchmark cameras which might never be surpassed. Â It seems to me that the only real judgment will have to be based on actual users in-hands experience. as I have a few older cameras in production (including a E1) - its my experience that Olympus ages very well, time will show how the E3 is judged. Â That said.. I do believe that the Digilux 3 is significantly more noisy at 800 iso that the sample with the dancers. (smile) at least mine is. Advertisement Posted October 20, 2007 Posted October 20, 2007 Hi Bo_Lorentzen, Take a look here Olympus E-3 preview. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
sean_reid Posted October 24, 2007 Share #62  Posted October 24, 2007 Not my camera, and I know Olympus has a distinguished history, but IMHO, it's too little, too late, for too much. Compare the specs to a Pentax K10. JC  I don't agree that the E3 is too little or too late, necessarily, but I'm in the midst of testing John's K10D and lenses right now and I must agree that both the body and lenses are impressive. Pentax is flying under the radar and some of its lenses are very compact as well - something the 4/3 system aims for but doesn't always hit. Still eager to test the E3.  Cheers,  Sean
