In August this year both "died" almost simultaneously. Although Leica Switzerland states these batteries may last 3-4 years, they refused to change them and I had to buy two new ones. Pedro Mendes  Hi Pedro,  Are you Portuguese?  I´m Portuguese and when I see you name I decide to made this question to you. Regard you problem whit the DMR battery I think you are whit two defectives batterys:mad: and Leica should replace then whitout you pay anything. I think you should send the batterys to Leica for cheking then prior to replace, however now is to late for this porpuose. Â I have had problems with one DMR battery which I sent back for replacement. It did not want to recharge from day one. I have three other batteries now, which I try to use in turn regularly. Of the three, one does not seem to hold as much charge as the other two. Not sure why, despite even use and recharging. Â I also had a problem of nudging the battery into the camera with my wrist, which sometimes turned the camera off and then on again unintentionally. I have adjusted the way I hold my camera now to avoid this. Â Despite this, I am most delighted by the results it can produce! marknorton Posted October 17, 2007 Share #8 Â Posted October 17, 2007 Important to know that Li-Ion batteries have a shelf-life whether they are used or not, and storing them fully charged at room temperature will accelerate their decline. I've been charging them up after use and keeping them with the kit at room temperature until the next outing - so I'll be taking your advice. Â Li-ion batteries in the two Dell laptops I've had over the past 7 years both died after about 500 charging cycles, which seems to be the expected life. Â I've not kept a log of DMR battery use so far but on that basis charging once a week on average should give me 10 years - will I, or the DMR, or be around then? So age by itself may not be an issue.  Ican't be accurate but I estimate about 100 charge cycles at most for each old battery. They were kept in a room with 22 - 25 ° C and 20% - 50% humidity, which means they share my living conditions. Also, besides using a battery until it gets fully discharged in the middle of a shooting session,which happened several times, I don't know of a practical way of getting a full discharge. Cheers Pedro  Dear Pedro,  Remenber that Leica in Swisstzerland are one Rep. of Leica camera. When I say to send the batteries to Leica is to Leica in Solms whit one letter to expalain your problem. Then at Costumer Service center they made one check and test of your batteries and I´m sure if they are defective they replace then. One thing is talkhing whit Rep.other is talking whit the factory. Here in Portugal the Rep. is good they are one very good technician called Mr.Nunes who give me good suport when nead. In 2002 I have one diaphagram failure on my 28-70 Vario-Elmar and the lenses are out of warranty near 5 mounths ,but Leica replace the lenses because they see it was factory fault not mine.  Best regards, Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Across the lake the service will be at least the same, you can deduct tax and add inexpensive swiss tax to save money on the R10, and say good bye to Leica Switzerland.
