pwilmo Posted December 31, 2022 Share #1 Posted December 31, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have scewed Ricoh Wide Conversion Lens GW3 directly onto the Q and it definitely gives wide angle as per images, I have reduced file size to illustrate . The focus point is the window ornament and on the originals, there seems little or no detail loss given ther was no flash and indoor. Although manual focus through the wide angle was difficult, autofocus was impossible. Still experimenting but maybe better results will be easier in outdoor. Some shots seemed blurry misty and maybe this wide agle will not be suitable for close range. Maybe a 3.4mm spacer will help and more experimenting outdoor. Any ideas or have you experience with the Q and Ricoh wide angle Welcome, dear visitor! Olaf_ZG Posted December 31, 2022 Share #3 Posted December 31, 2022 How did you connect the gw3?

pwilmo Posted December 31, 2022 Author Share #5 Posted December 31, 2022 Yes, I just screwed it on to the 49mm. I was a bit anxious that the glass surfaces of the two lenses touching, but the base of GW3 is level with glass so acts as a small spacer.
Olaf_ZG Posted December 31, 2022 Share #6 Posted December 31, 2022 I remember that on the GR there is some space between the lenses due to the holder…
Farrell Gallery Posted January 1, 2023 Share #7 Posted January 1, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Similar concept to the WCL Fujifilm wide angle converter. Now I wonder if that would work, same 49mm size haha
pwilmo Posted January 2, 2023 Author Share #8 Posted January 2, 2023 Fuji WCL wide angle lens.. That's an idea, I have one and will experiment, I'll update this post later. Don't think for one moment I am dissatisfied with my Q .. I love it, for me my best camera ever; but I love to tinker, experiment.

Now I wonder if that would work, same 49mm size haha It won't directly screw on like a filter as it connects to the threads like the Q2 hood which would be larger around than 49mm filter thread. On the x100v It's 49mm just male not female. Maybe if the Q2 hood threads are a standard size maybe a step down filter ring would work to mount the attachment. clasami Posted January 3, 2023 Share #10 Posted January 3, 2023 But that is APS-C on FF. How does that work?
