The four screws you need to remove, 2 on each side of the lens, used to be accessible on the M4. For the M6, they're countersunk and hidden behind the leather to discourage meddling busy-bodies like me. I feel sure the M8 will be similarly constructed and sealed with special tools required to get it apart. Incidentally, my D2 hasn't missed a beat since it revealed its secrets!

I was unaware of the change in M-assembly style; thanks for the update. And I didn't doubt that the D2 still works. Seems to me that the people who have the guts to go in usually also have the knowledge to do so safely. :)
