carstenw Posted October 15, 2007 Share #2 Posted October 15, 2007 I don't understand. Recently you raved about the look of the 35/2 IV and now you want to trade it for a high-contrast lens?
atufte Posted October 15, 2007 Author Share #3 Posted October 15, 2007 I don't understand. Recently you raved about the look of the 35/2 IV and now you want to trade it for a high-contrast lens? Hehe, don't you worry about it, i tried a Biogon and liked it very much, nothing wrong in trying new stuff...is it?
carstenw Posted October 15, 2007 Share #4 Posted October 15, 2007 No, but there is an old saying that you should never sell a Leica lens. Ask Guy
atufte Posted October 15, 2007 Author Share #5 Posted October 15, 2007 No, but there is an old saying that you should never sell a Leica lens. carstenw Posted October 16, 2007 Share #6 Posted October 16, 2007 The point was that the tendency is to regret it, even if you also like the new lens. It gets expensive though!

carstenw Posted October 16, 2007 Share #8 Posted October 16, 2007 You traded two Leica lenses and can cross nothing off your wanted-list? Bad trade
Shootist Posted October 16, 2007 Share #9 Posted October 16, 2007 I really don't understand your thinking here. Leica lens prices are on the increase and the Zeiss lenses have just dropped in price but yet it seems you wanted to trade one for one, EVEN. Now you post the the Leica lenses are gone but you are still looking for the Zeiss lenses. Doesn't sound like a trade to me. If you sold the Leica lenses you can just go and buy new Zeiss and have money left over.

Doesn't sound like a trade to me. If you sold the Leica lenses you can just go and buy new Zeiss and have money left over. I tried doing a trade, but it failed, because i was to nitpicking about chrome not black, (got lots of offers for black CZ lenses...) today they got sold, so that's right i can buy them new, but i thought if i can get them used why not...and i did not try to trade equal with the cheaper Zeiss lenses, but remember the Zeiss lenses are "new" and my Leica lenses where used for years, so just worth a bit more than the newer Zeiss lenses... Someone want's Leica, others want Zeiss, it's that easy... But thanks for your concern... :-)
