GarethC Posted October 15, 2007 Share #1 Posted October 15, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) George I read your post with great amusement, the replies with greater amusement and your response with the need to give the rest of us an opportunity to chime in with a few bloopers, just to prove that the question really wasn't that stupid in the bigger scheme of things. I'll start with three of my favourites, all three happened to a good friend of mine, not me.......really, it was another guy. I have at least one of the favourites, show us some of your more original moments. 1. From my seven year old "Daddy, what's that black thing on the front of your camera?" Followed by 30 seconds of noise suppression as I took an intimate portrait of the inside of my lens cap. 2. Me thinking to myself while learning the art of rapid focussing, "Now, if I rotate the focus ring clockwise I can focus closer, what do I have to do if I have the camera in a portrait orientation, not landscape?" 3. Just last week, I had no undertanding of how I took a photo with the camera strap in the picture, it just wasn't there when I took the shot. I even took 2 more shots to see if it would show up again.WYSIWYG does not apply.

robertwright Posted October 15, 2007 Share #2 Posted October 15, 2007 while on a very big shoot in new york I was setting up for a twilight shot on a tripod with lighting and my mamiya 7, happily framing away, metering, etc, passerby walks by and says- "your lens cap is on.." duh! actually saved the shoot I have to say. I might not have noticed in the 10 minutes we had to shoot....
BerndReini Posted October 15, 2007 Share #3 Posted October 15, 2007 A couple of years ago, I borrowed my friends Hasselblad to shoot someone's headshots. My first time using rollfilm, I somehow managed to load the camera emulsion side in. Obviously, there was nothing on the roll.
dpattinson Posted October 15, 2007 Share #4 Posted October 15, 2007 Well, There's always getting to frame 40 on a film M, and having that sinking realisation that you forgot to check the rewind knob was moving when you loaded the film.
