Chuck Albertson Posted December 23, 2022 Share #1 Posted December 23, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) Reviewing some DNGs on the back of my camera, I noticed that some of them were tagged with a "iDR" label, usually with an "H" over it. There's an "iDR" submenu in the "JPG Settings" menu, with the usual Auto/High/Standard/Low/Off settings. But I've gone through the most recent manual, and all the release notes for the firmware updates, and haven't found any discussion of it. This is a week-old SL2-S, with current firmware, all the mod cons. Any idea what this is?

Chuck Albertson Posted December 23, 2022 Author Share #3 Posted December 23, 2022 That explains it, though I didn't find the quoted text/examples in the manual. Many thanks.
Anakronox Posted December 23, 2022 Share #4 Posted December 23, 2022 Yep, Leica doesn’t incorporate new information into and republish their manuals. You can find new feature details in the firmware update notes for each release. So if you can’t find what you’re looking for in your original manual, it’s worth reading the update notes. Thanks, everyone. the offical manual is PDF if from date that when the camera comes out. all the other changes are found in PDF of the relative firmware updates, you will have to read them all sometime to find what you are looking for. It wold be nice it the manual would get updated, it is just a PDF. Come on Leica I know you can do it! Thanks, everyone. I find Red Dot Forum descriptions on FW updates more useful than reading text from a brief ‘manual’ update. The RDF also provides archives (for reference and/or download) on virtually all Leica FW updates for each product, something that not even Leica easily provides. To be fair, it appears that Leica are trying to update the manual for the SL2-S. There are two versions on the support website, one from when the SL2-S was introduced, and a more recent one dated May 2022.
Anakronox Posted December 24, 2022 Share #10 Posted December 24, 2022 Well, seems as if they are listening to feedback and changing their documentation process!
