The parts are beautiful and beautifully presented.   I tried this once and later sent it to DAG for reassembly, he was very kind to me about my endeavors.  

Perhaps a dumb question, what is the next step?  How do you clean the glass, any secrets?

Just don’t unscrew the back element (2nd from the right at the bottom row) and don’t disassemble aperture blades

I used normal Kodak cleaning kit, I guess it’s ok for this lens.

Depending on the contaminents I use several different solutions. If fungus is present I use hydrogen peroxide. If merely haze I typically use an eyeglasses cleaning fluid I make myself  (consisting  mostly of distilled water, 90% Propyl alcohol and a couple of drops of liquid dish detergent) lightly sprayed onto an eyeglasses microfiber cleaning cloth. Very gently wiping the lens surfaces. And I do mean gently so as to not inadvertantly scratch the coatings or glass.

So true.  I've never been able to clean a lens as well as it arrives new.  I'm thinking the manufacturers use ultrasonics or some other means.

Do you have a list of tools that you used to get this done? I'm currently deciding on tearing-down my Summilux-R

to open and disamble the summilux u need a opening tool for the front ring

and good screw drivers

I’ve been using standard precision screwdriver set. Although I need to buy some more specific tools as monkT suggested.
