Recently I've purchased the Leica 21mm SEM. While waiting for my 21mm OVF to arrive in the mail, I made do with LV on the M11.

I am happy to report that the experience was positive, Is it better to use the OVF?- this I shall find out when the 21/25mm Voigtlander OVF arrives.

I will definitely need the OVF when shooting with the M2.

I like the Visoflex 2 EZVF for Leica M11 and always have it on mine. It's great for focusing close up or with telephoto lenses, and for precise composition with wideangle lenses. Optical viewfinders are OK for distance composition, but increas in inaccuracy the closer your subject gets to the camera. They were a necessity for wide lenses on film rangefinders, but I find them very frustrating on cameras that can take an EVF.
