earlyadopter Posted October 12, 2007 Share #1 Posted October 12, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Does anyone know what dpreview mean by listing "Summicron 50 mm F2 with close focusing" in "Incompatible lenses" on this page? Is it about any 50mm Summicron? Which ones should definitely be avoided?

thai.charlie Posted October 12, 2007 Share #2 Posted October 12, 2007 I think it may be referring to the Dual Range Summicron?
techpan Posted October 12, 2007 Share #3 Posted October 12, 2007 Dual Range only. All other Summicron 50mm lenses work fine.
gravastar Posted October 12, 2007 Share #4 Posted October 12, 2007 Dual Range only. All other Summicron 50mm lenses work fine. Just to add to that. Early 50mm Summicrons with the thicker 3mm mount cannot be coded by Leica, they don't have the replacement mounts as I found to my cost. Thinner mounts less than 1mm can be coded. I would assume if you remove the thicker mount the flange could have the coding depressions milled by John Milich. Bob.
