zapp Posted October 12, 2007 Share #1 Posted October 12, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I thought I had seen an R lens to M camera adapter lately that coupled to the rangefinder for manual transfer of the distance to a mounted lens. cameraquest is not offering such an adapter anymore. Anyone knows where to get one new or used.
Advertisement Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 Hi zapp, Take a look here R lenses on M camera. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
doubice Posted October 12, 2007 Share #2 Posted October 12, 2007 As far as I know, Cameraquest were the only ones with the rangefinder 'coupled' adapter. Quite expensive and I would say cumbersome as well. You had to focus with the adapter first and than transfer the distance setting to the lens - not a particularly accurate method. Leica made an adapter for the Leicina Special Super 8 movie camera (which had an M mount), that accepted R lenses. The code for the adapter was 22228 and it can be sometimes found on eBay. It is of course not rangefinder coupled but, usualy used with wide angle lenses only so the coupling is not all that necessary - depth of field took care of any error in guessing the focus.
