Phgspa Posted December 11, 2022 Share #1  Posted December 11, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) Not having used my Visoflex 020 for TL2 for a few months I took it out of its case and was dismayed to find that part of the side of the pedestal had crumbled [as shown]. Has anybody else had this experience? The UK Leica people had no suggestions, but maybe some of you can offer some advice? Welcome, dear visitor! wda Posted December 12, 2022 Share #4 Â Posted December 12, 2022 I had a Leica compact camera, with OVF attached, inside a small padded case, fall from a chair seat to a carpeted floor. The OVF bore the brunt of the shock, breaking the plastic body of the attached finder. I managed to find a repairer to rebuild the finder case. That was some time ago. Your picture reminded me of my impact damage. Â Â Â Â
DenverSteve Posted December 16, 2022 Share #5  Posted December 16, 2022 The oldest 020s are about 8 years old so, unless kept in seriously hot conditions, I wouldn't think that a modern plastic would get brittle enough to fall apart in such a short time. I would arrange to send it to Leica for evaluation. Do you know when yours was manufactured? I know the Visoflex 2 (for M11) isn't serialized so identifying when it was made is difficult (according to my discussion with Leica). Either way, I doubt if there is an official repair so maybe crazy-glue will work to keep it together. I would try a little DIY repair.
