Leica s 006 sensor replacement still available as of 2022-12

I am considering to acquire a used S 006. After consulting Leica customer service, the camera still has the high risk sensor.

But Leica can still replace it. I figured if the price of the used S is below $1000, it could well worth it.

The 006 at mpb.com (their U.K. site) has a new sensor - as confirmed by Leica - and that's selling for £1,749. That's less than the cost of fitting a new sensor!!

I'm interested in the S series too, and that is a price I would consider paying. But I didn't see anything on that page that specifically says "new sensor". It refers to a six month warranty, certainly, but unless I was looking in the wrong place I didn't see anything about a sensor replacement.

This should be a steal, Get it before it is gone.

With it and S adapter C, you can build a Contax 645 lens system cheaper than an SL single lens kit.

The other day I managed to pick up a Leica-Contax adapter for only EUR300. I've read that some are a bit temperamental so fingers crossed. 🤞

I would recommend to get 35mm, 45mm, 80mm, 120mm, 140mm, 210mm, and 45-90mm if possible. These lens has lower price in the past few years, but somehow all getting higher and higher recently.
 

Yes, including 210mm. It is on par with Hasselblad V 180, except it has AF. 35mm is close to Hasselblad V IF 40mm and much cheaper. For S, it’s angle of view is more desirable than 40mm in my personal view. . 45mm would be the V 50mm equivalent but with AF and faster aperture. 120Mm is for portrait and close up, no AF, 140mm would be the partner of 120mm with AF. 80mm? Do ai need to say good word? 
 

45-90mm? I can say a lot of good words and bad words about it, .but, in short, just get it.

This is just personal experience, but I've tried three copies of the 210. They've all been awful. There's a reason it's so much cheaper than any other Contax 645 lens. The eBay prices are a pretty good indicator of the quality and "specialness"of these lenses. The 350/4 is a monster, expensive, and, well, I only tried one copy, but it wasn't pretty. If you want 8 lbs. of long glass, the Pentax 67 400/4 ED-IF is a much better choice. MF, but at least it has low CA.

Contax 645 QC is very good and consistent across all focal length. Get a second hand in excellent condition. 
I  used to own a 350mm: heavy, bulky. It was stolen. Since then never find the replacement.
