If you are interested in the technology involved, searching for “light field photography” should turn up a few hits.

It gives some nice insight as to what the future might bring us.

The processing must somehow resemble in complexity the computing of a 3D image out of many (unfocussed) 2D images from a CT or a MRI scanner, for which one still needs serious mega computer power..

Stephen - I too found the presentation interesting, and it will be ifascinating to see how the technology develops. However, I'm surprised that no-one on the forum hasn't already declared that it will be dead in the water unless all 19 lens elements are Nocti .
