techpan Posted October 6, 2007 Share #1 Posted October 6, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just wanted to ask if anyone knows if leica codes the Summicron 35mm F2 IV? I tried calling in today but couldn't get through to anyone. I want to send the lens in for coding but don't know if they code it.

cwf Posted October 6, 2007 Share #5 Posted October 6, 2007 Somewhat buried on the Leica-US website is a list of old lenses that can be coded by Lecia. From this page: http://www.leica-camera.us/news/news/1/5152.html Go to "6-bit coding information" ( over to the right, beneath the word "service" toward the top). It seems to me that, unless you know this there, it is not obvious to find. With the initial question answered, perhaps this will be more generally helpful. Guest V64 Posted October 7, 2007 Share #6 Posted October 7, 2007 I have one of these lenses, and I found that there is a screw head just where the two 'black' marks go - nothing easier, just fill in the slight recess containing the screw head, with sharpie or edding 8400 cd marker. No measurement and little wear. David
