leiM6 Posted November 27, 2022 Share #1 Posted November 27, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) After some research it seems I am not able to set up the LCD EVF like my A7r3. On the a7r3 my camera is turned on and the EVF activates automatically and the LCD remains off until I press a "preset button". No way to do this on the Q2 I think. I have my Fn button set to activate the EVF-LCD function but that will toggle through all the EVF LCD settings, including , auto, EVF extended etc.. Not a perfect solution but does allow me to use the EVF when I want, have the LCD turned off unless I want to use it to take a photograph. If anyone knows some way that is better please let me know. Advertisement Posted November 27, 2022 Posted November 27, 2022 Hi leiM6, Take a look here Leica Q2 EVF . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Le Chef Posted November 27, 2022 Share #2 Posted November 27, 2022 Have you checked the instruction manual? Worth a look. You can choose between a number of settings from just EVF to EVF + LCD and just LCD. The easiest way to get what you want is to set it up in a profile that you can return to. Farrell Gallery Posted November 27, 2022 Share #3 Posted November 27, 2022 I stopped using the FN button as the process seems clumsy. I do however use my favorites in menu, and that being one of my settings. I had a puzzling episode a month after I got the camera where it switched to video on its own, and I went home and tried to replicate the issue, by pressing every button and nothing. It turns out, doing a clean swipe across the rear LCD switches modes, and then another swipe switches it again...so if I am doing events, I either am conscious of this and leave it on "auto" so both the EVF and LCD work as needed...or I set it to EVF extended if I wish to eliminate the rear LCD and rely on the EVF. You can also set to EVF only or Rear LCD only. The camera is different, but user friendly menu....once you use menu favorites and learn its amazing attributes and quirks, you'll make great friends with it. If you dig in the archives, you should be able to find my thread about the mystery video switch while photographing an abandoned asylum.
