I've just coded my lenses and mounted the uv/ir filters.

 

Why does the camera not give me the focal length of the lens if the UV/IR cut isn't on the lens? It's like it doesn't recognize that it is coded without the filter.

 

These guys at Leica are smart.

Your coding is probably not perfectly done. So the camera recognizes it some times and some times it doesn't. It just happened to have the filter on or not.

How did you do the coding?

In reality, Jordan is probably correct but I'm not going to ake the filter off to find out. There are just some things in life we don't need to know :)

 

I used a Sharpie and then went to the black nail polish solution which now is calling up the WATE on the CV15 and 35mm for the Ultron so all is good.

 

But wouldn't it be funny if I did take off the filters to try it out now.......................

OK, but when you are using the Sharpie, keep your eye on the dougnut and not on the hole.
