GarethC Posted October 3, 2007 Share #1 Posted October 3, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) If I need back caps in Canada would they be called toques? Seriously, got the goods from John Milich today and of course, dummy here forgot to buy some caps ahead of time so I'm travelling next week and need to get my grubby mitts on a couple of M mount lens caps. I also need the link for coding and suggestions on what to use. And as if that wasn't enough then I also need a lens cap for th enewly hooded VC 15. If anybody can make any Canadian suggestions that would be ideal. It seems Vistek carries everything but and Harrys pro Shop oesn't have them listed but they're worth a call. Advertisement Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 Hi GarethC, Take a look here Canadian caps and paint. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
sisoje Posted October 3, 2007 Share #2 Posted October 3, 2007 Good luck finding anything you need (now) at Vistek. That store became an elite boutique shop for $$$ people. Yes, they can sell you $40,000 digital back or computer system BUT you have to order it and wait (few months or so). Try going there and buy anything for M system on the spot... Good luck. I bought my last big purchase there 3+ years ago and got it as promised only after sending a complaint email to the owner directly... On the other side, Brian aka Harrysproshop is a great guy. Contact him, he just might have what you looking for (in his basement). Also, try Patrick @ Merkle Camera (Vic. Park & 401). He is mine No. 1. Last option: Jean @ Leica Boutique in Montreal. Simply the only place on this side of Canada that has any kind of normal Leica inventory. Jamie Roberts Posted October 3, 2007 Share #3 Posted October 3, 2007 I agree with pretty much everything Steven wrote, though I have to admit the leasing out of Vistek is still not too bad He's even wearing a toque in his avatar pic! For caps you might also try 8 Elm Photo--an old Leica dealer in Toronto. They probably don't have what you want on hand, but you just never know what they've got kicking around there. Here in UK the importer of Cosina/Voigtlander lenses and cameras offers rear bayonet caps for sale as a regular priced item - IIRC they cost £8 ($16) each Is there a CV importer/agent in Canada? If so so I suggest you contact them. For my 'Miliched' CV 15 I'm looking to use a modified cap from a tub of 'Caley's Fairtrade ChocLo Low Calorie Luxury Instant Hot Chocolate', which I have checked is just about the right size to fit over the Milich lens hood, once the screw moulding is sanded off and some self-adhesive velour installed. Unfortunately the CFCLIHC tub still has some powder in it and my wife seems to have stopped drinking it for the past couple of weeks....
haribo Posted October 3, 2007 Share #5 Posted October 3, 2007 Unless you insist on using original Leica rear lens caps for about $30 + CDN each, I highly suggest to check out ebay. You get copies from Hong Kong for 5 bucks each and they fit as good.

I looked on ebay but they are all US based suppliers and I need it sooner than anybody can deliver.
