cesc Posted November 10, 2022 Share #1 Posted November 10, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all! I have been using Leica M bodies since quite a while, analog and digital. And I offered myself a Q2 just for having a "faster" camera. My focus, light meter method with the M was pretty normal, half pressed, and manual focus, then finish the press for taking the shot. But with the Q2 I am a bit lost, what's your favourite way of measuring light, focus and shoot? I've realized that when I lock the AE-L , and I use manual focus, after, the AE-L unlocks automatically, it's quite annoying. And I am not very fan of having the autofocus and AE-L at the same button, so it's doing both at the same time. Any tips will be appreciate. Thanks all for your comments! ianforber Posted November 14, 2022 Share #2 Posted November 14, 2022 I started off using my Q2 with centre weighted metering, autofocused and recomposed while keeping the shutter release half pressed (which keeps the focus locked). If needed, I dialled in some exposure compensation using the thumb wheel. More recently, I’ve switched to using the highlight weighted metering and think less about exposure compensation. I rarely use manual focus with my Q2
