drewmcd24 Posted August 16, 2006 Share #1 Â Posted August 16, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) This may be a long shot, but does anyone know a place in Raleigh, NC (USA) that can perform a CLA on my M6? I'd prefer not to have to ship it anywhere. Also, can somebody give me an idea of how much such a service will cost?
Advertisement Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 Hi drewmcd24, Take a look here Leica Service in Raleigh, NC?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
marknorton Posted August 16, 2006 Share #2 Â Posted August 16, 2006 I've spent over a year of my life working for IBM in Raleigh, but the centre of the universe it is not. Just look what happened to a fabulous ante-bellum mansion called the Plantation Inn. They demolished it and turned it into a strip mall. As I used to say to my colleagues, the best view you can get of Raleigh is in a rear view mirror. As for Leica service, forget it. Fedex it to Leica in NJ. marknorton Posted August 17, 2006 Share #3 Â Posted August 17, 2006 My apologies for my tirade which was unnecessary but being mugged at gun-point in Hillsborough street kind of colours your judgment. Can happen anywhere, I guess.
drewmcd24 Posted August 17, 2006 Author Share #4 Â Posted August 17, 2006 Mark, Â No apology needed. I've lived in Raleigh for almost a year now (in fact, I live on Hillsborough street), and I like it here so far. You're right, it's hardly the center of the universe, but there are a lot of interesting things to do here. Plus, it's relatively close to the beach and to the mountains, so it's easy to get away if you want. Â When did you live in Raleigh? By all accounts it's really improved in the last ten years or so. marknorton Posted August 17, 2006 Share #5 Â Posted August 17, 2006 This was late 70's/early 80's, I lived on Old Wake Forest Road, worked on Yonkers Road near the beltline and then out at RTP. Â There used to be a good camera store in Chapel Hill, so you might try there.
