Wey Cameras in Weybridge, Surrey, just south west of London have a 75 cron in stock, but they have not updated their website since 24th

Jeff

I'll be darn... I was spared the shame to wear my leather thingie in public... Weybridge has them in stock at a very good price too, but even better that news pushed me to go visit my preferred shop Richard Caplan and he had one too, so now thanks to you guys I am a happy camper:D :D :D

Next will be a 28 or 24... not sure yet which of the three... Thank goodness RC did not have any of the 28 in stock...

How do they expect us to use our flashy M8s... I cannot find any 75cron or 28cron anywhere on two continents (preferably in London though)
As you know, Great-Britain is not a continent. :D

So you should look sharper.

I just bought one -brand new- in a shop with 2 years warranty etc. for £1345 :p

Now it's on his way to Solms to be coded.

£1,345... blimey... is that with or without vat... maybe cause it's not coded... still very good deal!

GB may not be a continent but still is part of one, so technically if I search in NYC and in Londinium I AM searching on two continents... but then again who cares... I got my babe:D

Hi.

It is VAT included of course, it was a special offer, i don't know why.

3 weeks ago, another new Cron 28A was bought right under my nose from an Englishman, here in Nice, for £1485. So i didn't lost time to ask the reason of this offer. ;)

Leica do code new lenses bought after May 1th. 2006 free of charge, so i was told from the Leica official repairer in Paris. :)

Coding a lens is £64.50 here BTW.

Nice one.

Hoping I don't have much longer to wait.

Can recommend the 2.8 28.

Now that the 75 is resting next to me on a pillow, smoking a fag... my mind is already betraying it, thinking about the other lens... I cannot make up my mind between a 28cron or elm and the 24.

I have a 35cron already, so a 24 would make more sense?

If you have the 35 than the 24 makes the most space sense. I have all three 24,28 and 35 and no have excuses. But don't follow me you will go broke.:D

Gentlemen : I am pleased to say that yesterday I took delivery via FEDEX of not one, but TWO of the rather difficult lenses to find after being told a week ago by Tony Rose that it was "impossible."

I have a mint, in the box with papers, 24mm ASPH Elmarit 2.8, purchased at $1900 on ebay and a similar--one roll of film supposedly about 4 photos--75mm F2 Summicron, for which I advertised WTB on Photo.Net. Got and email reply in the first 12 hours, made an offer, not enough, called the guy and said, "OK, how much do your really want for it," and when he said $2400 I said SOLD.

You really have to work at these things a bit. I understand that on Monday Tony got in a 24mm used. I'd much rather the 24 than the 28. In fact, if you can believe this, I "lost" my original 24 someplace in the last 3 months and that's why I was looking for one. The 24 on the M8 acts more like a 28 on the M7, and you really can't get by without a "28mm." Only in this case it is a 24mm for which there is a nice frameline in the M8.

Yes, I also have a 21mm, but it doesn't have quite the "feel" of the 28mm--errr, I mean 24mm when using the M8.

24 probably would make more sense.

I have 28, 50 and 75 ordered as mentioned. I find 28 wide enough for my taste but wonder whether I should look to the 35 next....but not for a while! I miss a 50mm equivalent.

I really enjoy my 35cron and, if I have to carry only one lens, it is it.

I got the chrome version which is a beauty on the chrome m8, but heavy like a russian tank... the price I pay to look good

um, wouldn't the 21 act more like a '28' on an 1.33 M8, where as the 24 would be closer to a '31' and a 28 closer to a '37'

the other understanding that the crop factor of the M8 does not produce a 'perspective' of a '28' with a 21 lens attached. its just a 21mm lens perspective cropped.

would like to hear views on this

It can't be too difficult to make lenses if you have done it for 90 years!

Both in stock with these people. Wey Cameras Catering for the Committed Photographer Since 1963***********

Just south of London.
