pocholin Posted October 30, 2022 Share #1 Posted October 30, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) Interesting lens, I've had it for a few days. It feels solid, it is compact and it is wide without being fisheye. Welcome, dear visitor! tommonego@gmail.com Posted October 30, 2022 Share #3 Posted October 30, 2022 It would be interesting to compare it to 11mm on the 11-23 or the 10mm Voigtlander.
pocholin Posted October 30, 2022 Author Share #4 Posted October 30, 2022 I am hoping to use this for astrophotography. Comparison to Leica's 11-23mm would be nice. Minimum focus distance on this guy is 20cm! It is great being able to get that close to the subject...if I only knew how to do it properly! LOL. I do need to practice a lot with this wide angle lens, the angles and perspectives. Welcome, dear visitor! tommonego@gmail.com Posted October 31, 2022 Share #5 Posted October 31, 2022 (edited) At 11mm the 11-23 focuses at 20cm close to that at 23. 11mm at 8 inches 20cm Welcome, dear visitor! pocholin Posted October 31, 2022 Author Share #6 Posted October 31, 2022 @tommonego@gmail.com it seems vignetting is better controlled by the 11-23mm lens. Then again, there's a notable difference between 11mm and 9mm

I think it is sold as full frame L-mount. Bought one about 18 months ago for the occasional silly perspective shot or e.g. for shooting a church interior. Correction of keystone distortion is impressive. However stopped using the lens a while ago as no matter how hard I tried I was unable to get near the sharpness I'm used to from Voigtländer or Leica
pocholin Posted November 10, 2022 Author Share #9 Posted November 10, 2022 I'm still experimenting with it, as mentioned before my main use should be for astrophotography, perhaps landscapes too This was from the last lunar eclipse. pocholin Posted November 13, 2022 Author Share #10 Posted November 13, 2022 Some examples of pictures where the wide angle comes handy, the mummy and picture photos were taken at close range, no way to capture all the subjects with the 18mm at the same distance. All of these were taken at f:5.6 to control vigneting Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! I still need to learn the correct angles but I appreciate the ability of being close to my subject and still capture other elements around them...although sometimes my fingers are on the way...another thing to learn...get them out of the way. pocholin Posted July 27, 2023 Author Share #15 Posted July 27, 2023 So, I finally had a chance to take pictures of the milkyway and, boy, does this lens shine! Granted, it is NOT a f1.4 fast lens but at f2.8 it isn't too shabby. These pictures were taken at ISO 6400 around 12 or 15 seconds, I'm impressed, especially because the field of view is soooo much greater than the 16mm I was using before. Welcome, dear visitor! pocholin Posted July 27, 2023 Author Share #16 Posted July 27, 2023 This shows an approximation of how much more it captures versus a 16mm Welcome, dear visitor!
