sean_reid Posted September 28, 2007 Share #21 Posted September 28, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hey--I'll give credit where credit is due--Sean's reviews have saved me some serious cash, inasmuch as I'm not quite the same collector of lenses as Guy (not quite ) I still bought at least three CVs based on Sean's reviews, and I really like them. His reviews and analysis are always well-informed, photographically pertinent (which is very important), and certainly more thorough than any others I've seen! And I'm waiting to see how the Summarits fare as well, so I hope you some to play with soon Sean! Cool, thanks Jamie. I'm hoping to have them to test in the next 2 -3 weeks. Cheers, Sean
Advertisement Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Hi sean_reid, Take a look here The new Summarits - LFI 07/2007. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
marknorton Posted September 30, 2007 Share #22 Posted September 30, 2007 One other thing I noticed from the promo shots is that "Leica" appears at the top of the front of the lens bezel on each of the lenses, not in the arbitrary position we've been used to up to now. Might of course just be fixed for the promo shots in the same way car manufacturers ensure the logos in their wheel centres are the right way up. rosuna Posted September 30, 2007 Share #23 Posted September 30, 2007 he Noctilux was designed in 1969, but produced much later. I suppose at 5000$ you can design a better lens with the actual technology. The Summilux 75mm is a different problem: you already have to 75mm lenses, and the APO-Cron is very expensive. guy Posted September 30, 2007 Share #24 Posted September 30, 2007 I'm really pleased to see the Summarits coming out, although I doubt I'll be buying them. My real hope is that they create a nice new revenue stream for Leica and allow them to plough that into the R&D necessary to create a 28mm Summilux...
