sjt1 Posted September 24, 2007 Share #1 Posted September 24, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) The Isle of Wight is a small island off the south coast of the UK. Its an enlongated diamond shape (the long side is east-west) and this picture was taken on the western end, looking east. Tennyson down is named after Alfred Lord Tennyson, who lived near this down (in a place named Freshwater bay), almost next door to Julia Margaret Cameron (whose house is now a photography museum). This pic was taken using an M8 and a 35 f2 asph lens, and is a composite of 5 pics. It was stitched together in photoshop CS3. CS3 is very good indeed for panoramas, and it is very easy indeed. This was shot handheld, and the only thing I did was try to keep the lens in the same place (pivot round the centre of the lens - don't pivot on your feet or swing your body, sort of step round the camera if that makes sense). The other thing I did was use Alien Skin Exposure and the Kodachrome 64 filter. This gave the picture the slightly pink tint. Honestly with the M8 and CS3 panoramas are a piece of cake. The full resolution version is about 180MB, and you can zoom right in on the detail. Hope you like it Steve Taylor

Chuckcars Posted September 24, 2007 Share #3 Posted September 24, 2007 Nice pano. Especially for being hand held. Glad to hear PSCS3 is easy.
