jamriman Posted September 24, 2007 Share #1 Posted September 24, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I tried searching this forum and the web to find a way to get a new Zeiss flange to bring up the 28mm framelines. I have a 21mm zeiss 4.5 coded for the 21mm WATE. It codes (IR mode only) when I push the frameline lever to 28mm. Then a menu comes up with 3 WATE choices 16, 18, 21. Is this how WATE works? Anyhow, does anyone know how to get a new zeiss zm 28mm flange? Don G. and John M don't know either. Thanks
Advertisement Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 Hi jamriman, Take a look here New Zeiss mount and WATE?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ho_co Posted September 24, 2007 Share #2 Posted September 24, 2007 1) Yes, this is how the WATE works--instructions can be downloaded from Leica web site. 2) Your best bet would be to contact Zeiss. Lens mount can be switched relatively easily on some of their lenses, though I don't know about this one. --HC
jlm Posted September 24, 2007 Share #3 Posted September 24, 2007 the detail on the mount that controls frame line selection requires that about .030" material be removed as you go from 9cm to 5cm to 13.5cm. the Wate (9cm) requires that no material be removed. FYI: 9cm: 90mm, 28mm, 21mm, WATE 5cm: 50mm, 75mm 13.5cm: 35mm, 24mm

You can order the ZM28 lens mount from Zeiss in Germany. Write to: "Hoenlinger, Bertram" <hoenlinger@zeiss.de> Bertram respond quickly through email. jamriman Posted September 24, 2007 Author Share #5 Posted September 24, 2007 Many thanks! I got a reply from Zeiss. FYI you can't get a new flange for the 21 4.5. Zeiss has to remove it. The lens requires specific adjustments. However the Biogon 28 2.5 can be swapped out fine.
