cometsoft Posted September 23, 2007 Share #1 Posted September 23, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Does anyone know the actual weight difference between these two lenses? (The current ASPH version). Popflash lists them both as .66 lb which is probably the weight of the black. I read somewhere that there is generally a 100 gram difference between black and silver. Don't know if that's true. Thanks

cwf Posted September 24, 2007 Share #2 Posted September 24, 2007 The U.S. Leica website (p. 2 of the technical data under the lens listing) gives the weight as 300g for black anodized and 415g for silver chrome finish.

cwf Posted September 24, 2007 Share #5 Posted September 24, 2007 No need to feel amiss about not finding the info. I had the advantage of knowing that it was on the website when I went to look for it. I also knew it was somewhat hidden, so I immediately started burrowing. I have noticed several times now that the black lenses are lighter than the chrome versions. A small factor in favor of black, which accumulates if one expects to carry more than one lens.
