sbelyaev Posted September 21, 2007 Share #1 Posted September 21, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) When I tried to use B+W f-pro filters (non-slim) with summicron 35/2 asph I noticed some vignetting, which would not be corrected by stopping down the lens. Does anyone have a similar experience. What kind of filters do you usually use? Thanks.
Advertisement Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 Hi sbelyaev, Take a look here Summicron 35/2 asph vignetting. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
andybarton Posted September 21, 2007 Share #2 Posted September 21, 2007 Some examples of that lens vignette pretty badly anyway. Do a search on this forum for examples.
stunsworth Posted September 21, 2007 Share #3 Posted September 21, 2007 Hi Stan, I've used that lens a lot with filters and never noticed a problem. Do you have an example you can upload?
sbelyaev Posted September 21, 2007 Author Share #4 Posted September 21, 2007 I attached some scans.
wizard Posted September 21, 2007 Share #5 Posted September 21, 2007 Well, I'd say there isn't a lot of vignetting in the last two examples, but vignetting is noticeable in the first two shots. Exposure plays a role, too. In the first shots, lighting is uneven, and it seems that you exposed for the well lit center. The dark walls at both sides of the picture then receive even less exposure, which enhances the effect of visible vignetting (note that this effect is less pronounced in the second, more exposed shot). All in all, this is how the 2/35 asph. behaves (mine is no different), the lens does appear to show somewhat more vignetting than other lenses in the Leica stable. Cheers, Andy
