photolandscape Posted September 20, 2007 Share #1 Posted September 20, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I would like to send my M8 in for a check-up. I have seen some wild changes in color balance from one shot to the next on DNG files shot under exactly the same lighting, ISO setting, lens, etc. that don't seem right to me. Also, pretty disappointed in the sharpness, though I am starting to wonder whether it is a back/front focus issue exclusively, or I am getting sloppy and allowing too much camera shake. Seeing it on my 28 Elmarit, the 90 Elmarit, and even the CV15 from time to time. I am a sharpness fanatic so it is important for me to resolve this. Are these things that would require a second trip to Solms? If so, anyone out there know how long that is taking these days? I don't want to give up the camera any longer than necessary. Does anyone know Robert Fisk's e-mail address, or someone else in the repair area in NJ?
Advertisement Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Hi photolandscape, Take a look here Who to Contact at Leica NJ?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Guest guy_mancuso Posted September 20, 2007 Share #2 Posted September 20, 2007 robert.fisk@leicacamerausa.com he is your guy but your AWB setting this can happen on occasion, we are waiting on further firmware here . Yes same subject and not moving it can happen. WB is guessing at the kelvin temp. On the M8 i would send in for calibration if you think this is off but i would also send in the longer lenses to be sure of them also. All of this can be done in NJ without a trip to Solms unles something really weird is off which i tend to doubt.
