GarethC Posted September 20, 2007 Share #1 Posted September 20, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) At long last I got around to ordering mine but it occurred to me that I will need them in about 3 weeks and they were ordered about a week ago. I ordered 39mm so I'm hoping they should ship pretty quickly. Also, where do they ship from? I'm in Canada.
Advertisement Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Hi GarethC, Take a look here What's the wait on the Freebie filters?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wparsonsgisnet Posted September 20, 2007 Share #2 Posted September 20, 2007 The filters come DHL, I believe, and will probably not be there in 3 weeks. Since Leica is in the just-in-time shipping business, the availability of the specific filter size will dictate shipping. If you absolutely gotta have them, you might want to talk to Popflash or another recommended dealer. Failing that, use Jamie's profiles.
boilerdoc Posted September 20, 2007 Share #3 Posted September 20, 2007 More than likely it'll be months!! Mine was 6 months for the 55mm! Steve Call Tony at Popflash. Superb service!!!
ken_tanaka Posted September 20, 2007 Share #4 Posted September 20, 2007 My filters (55mm and 46mm) also took nearly 6 months to arrive from my February registration order. I suspect that turn-around may be improving as M8 sales have probably greatly slowed since then. But I would not count on getting them within even two months. artur5 Posted September 20, 2007 Share #5 Posted September 20, 2007 It depends mainly on two factors: Leica has your filters size in stock or not and, to a minor extent, if you are in Europe (faster ) or not ( slower... ). I got mine ( a pair of black E46) 12 days after I registered, because I'm in Europe and they had the filters at the moment. Lucky me ! .
GarethC Posted September 20, 2007 Author Share #6 Posted September 20, 2007 thanks guys, you said all the wrong things I have to buy a couple anyway so I'll probably buy two and then just shift them about as needed. Otherwise it's buy them and then ebay them.
Joe Mondello Posted September 20, 2007 Share #7 Posted September 20, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Actually I ordered mine just 2 weeks ago and they arrived within 10 days.
etrigan63 Posted September 20, 2007 Share #8 Posted September 20, 2007 Dave Farkas ordered mine for me as there was a problem with registering the demo unit I purchased from him. They straightened it all out and now I breathlessly await the call from Dale Labs informing me that my filters arrived.
John in Japan Posted September 20, 2007 Share #9 Posted September 20, 2007 I just got mine and I ordered them many MONTHS ago when I first bought the camera. John
rtphotos Posted September 20, 2007 Share #10 Posted September 20, 2007 "Gareth2", you might receive your filters from Solms in time for your trip! I registered in mid-August, and received the filters 3 weeks later on Sept. 6th, 2007. Both filters were 39mm. I live in the U.S. The filters were shipped via FedEx from Solm, Germany. I think Leica is finally catching up on these filter requests. I also got my 28mm Elmarit Asph from my dealer last week! And I agree that Popflash will almost certainly ship you the filters in a few days if the Solms ones don't appear before you leave. Good luck! rt

guy Posted September 25, 2007 Share #13 Posted September 25, 2007 Mine came and I missed the delivery because I'd gone on holiday. I'd ordered two for the 21mm because that was the only lens I had at the time. When I got back from holiday, all I had was a courier note saying they'd tried to deliver and that the package had been returned to sender. Meanwhile I'd bought a 50mm lux. I emailed Leica and asked very very apologetically if they could (a) re-send the filters I'd missed, and also ( change the order from two for the 21mm to one for the 21 and one for the 50. I got the two filters I wanted within 10 days. VERY pleased with this, and of course emailed them to say so!
AGeoJO Posted September 25, 2007 Share #14 Posted September 25, 2007 Sorry for the somewhat OT - Did someone get a 49mm UV/IR Cut filter that you don't need by any chance? I will be more than happy to take that off your hand. For a fee, of course . Please let me know. Thanks, Joshua
benroy Posted September 25, 2007 Share #15 Posted September 25, 2007 I have two filters available that I am not going to use...E46 UV/IR silver, and E43 UV/IR silver. If you have a need for these two, drop me an email. We can work out a reasonable price, and I'll ship out right away.
jaa Posted September 26, 2007 Share #16 Posted September 26, 2007 I bought and registered my M8 on the 11th of this month and received the filters (E39 + E46) this Monday (9 working days later).
Kent10D Posted September 26, 2007 Share #17 Posted September 26, 2007 Finally got my second filter two days ago! A 43 mm (which of course doesn't fit the lens I had intended to use it with due to the pitch difference). Never mind, where there's a will there's a way. I registered for the filters on May 28, so that's just shy of four months. So, Gareth, you did very well. Congratulations.
filmboy Posted September 26, 2007 Share #18 Posted September 26, 2007 Got mine yesterday - thanks Leica - just a smidgeon under two weeks since I requested them.
dougdarter Posted September 26, 2007 Share #19 Posted September 26, 2007 I'm still waiting after 6 months!!
Dan States Posted September 27, 2007 Share #20 Posted September 27, 2007 10 days for my 46mm filter. The 43 is still on order. I was suprised to see that it shipped from Wetzlar, in a Made in Germany box, with a packing slip indicating the filter was made in Japan. These things have made quite a journey!
