Vertical dark line at hi ISO and other problems.

I've just purchased a second M8 as a backup for an important event at the end of October. The first camera is in Solms having it's back focus fixed.

At high ISO 1250 and 2500 there is an ill defined vertical dark band approximately 16 pixels wide about 43% of the width in from the left hand side. It's visible in darker areas without pushing the exposure in post processing. However the line is NOT visible on full res JPEGS out of the camera. It can only be seen on processed RAW files. Both Capture One 3.7.7 and CS3/Adobe RAW show it. It does however appear for a few seconds when the camera first reviews the image on the LCD and then disappears. The first camera did not show this line.

I know other people have had a similar problem - but did it only show on DNG or both DNG and JPEG? If I'm correct Leica/dealer replaced the camera?

There is a second minor problem with the top line of the 90mm frame. The line appears to be partially cut into three segments by a faint circular arc. The split image of the rangefinder also appears in the line and moves into coincidence as the lens is focused, this can be distracting. Has anyone else seen such an effect? I don't remember seeing it on the first camera.

Both these probably mean a return to the dealer. Unfortunate since this camera is a replacement for the first backup purchased the previous week which was returned for a very sticky 90mm frame line - sigh.

Thanks, Bob.

My vertical line was a single line of one pixel width going vertically thorugh the pic. The vertical line was mostly visible at 640 and up but could also be seen in under-exposued areas at 160iso. My vertical line would not show in jpgs because of the jpg compression. Leica NJ replaced my camera with a one week turn-around.
