craigrmurray Posted September 19, 2007 Share #1 Posted September 19, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I know this subject was discussed last spring in the Forum, but I couldn't find the thread using the Search function. Here's the problem, which I thought I'd post on this site before consulting Adobe: I usually shoot the M8 in black and white mode, and select DNG + High resolution Jpegs for the capture. But when I import the files (from the memory card thru a card reader, not from the camera via USB cable), Lightroom only shows the color DNGs. Now, if I do the same thing in Adobe CS2 via the Bridge, I get both the color DNGs and the B&W Jpegs. So what gives? This is driving me nuts.
Advertisement Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 Hi craigrmurray, Take a look here Lightroom does not import B&W Jpegs with color DNGs. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
bradreiman Posted September 19, 2007 Share #2 Posted September 19, 2007 the jpegs are in your import folder where both the jpes and dngs are stored at import, tehy just don't make it to the user interface for some reason as is the case with aperture. Go to preferences, Import, and then check the Treat JPG files next to raw as separate photos.

craigrmurray Posted September 22, 2007 Author Share #5 Posted September 22, 2007 Go to preferences, Import, and then check the Treat JPG files next to raw as separate photos. Gus: That worked! Thanks so much; it was driving me crazy not being able to see both the B&W and color images side by side.
