Advertisement Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 Hi alexc, Take a look here DOF. Wate. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
marknorton Posted September 16, 2007 Share #2 Posted September 16, 2007 This scale is focussing distance and if you look at how the distance on the scale changes as you go from 2 to 4, 4 to 8 and 8 to 15 feet, you'll see it's becoming highly compressed, so the next increment to 32 is most of the remaining space. If you look at the depth of field scales, with the lens wide open and set to 21mm and the focussing set to 15 feet, the depth of field extends all the way to infinity and back to about 8 feet. Keep in mind that depth of field is not at great on the M8 as the DoF scales indicate.

Olsen Posted September 17, 2007 Share #4 Posted September 17, 2007 DOF on the WATE is no problem. Except for the fact that it can include dust on the huge filter to small treetops at infinity on a small aparture. So, one must keep the filter clean and see to that light don't fall directly onto the filter. Not so easy with this large filter without a dedicated sunshade.
