tap360 Posted August 10, 2022 Share #1 Â Posted August 10, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am considering buying a 50Lux that is only about 3 years old, but has a small ding in the hood. Everything works fine, purely cosmetic, but hopefully I am getting a good price as a result. Been on the fence over 50 Lux vs used 50 APO, but this 50Lux with a discount leaves me enough to almost upgrade my VM f/2 35mm to a used Leica 35 FLE Summilux. 50Lux + 35Lux seems a better bet than just the 50APO (much as I love it) I will probably leave it, but just wondered if anyone knew whether it was possible to change the 50Lux slide out hood oneself, if I can source the part? shanefking Posted August 10, 2022 Share #3 Â Posted August 10, 2022 Does the ding affect the movement or image in anyway? Â Mine has a ding as well, I think it makes the photos come out better. Â Â

You should be able to purchase one from a Leica Boutique. Â It's easy to install. Â Recognize that you're in the UK but for reference here's a link to the Miami Boutique where I bought mine. https://leicastoremiami.com/products/leica-replacement-lens-hood-for-summilux-m-50mm-f-1-4-asph-silver-11892?variant=7003007647788 Â
