I've owned this M4 since 2019 and never really paid much attention to the baseplate. Today when I took a look at it, it occurred to me, there are no markings, none nada. No OPEN/CLOSE or AUf/ZU as seen on just about every other M camera. Did it come from the factory  this way or is it a replacement?  If it is a replacement it is very well made and has never caused any problems with loading or light leaks. Any ideas?

That is normal for a M4.

Thank you. It's been a decade since my M6 TTL and even longer from the M6. The last two, a M6 TTL Millennium and a M2 were marked. I thought Leica had done away with it for a while then brought it back.
