Kentmere is not really "rebranded Ilford." It is a brand now owned by Ilford, but the films are not simply "Ilford in a different box." "Kentmere offers an alternative brand with its own unique characteristics...." The Kentmere films are made with "even-older-school" technology that is less expensive to manufacture than even the Ilford-branded "old-school" films (HP5+, FP4+, Pan F). Simpler "grain engineering" and other chemistry. Aimed at students and anyone else on a budget who wants to use it. Or just prefers those "unique characteristics." http://www.alexluyckx.com/blog/index.php/2019/02/08/film-review-blog-no-31-kentmere-100/ https://parallaxphotographic.coop/kentmere-pan-100-film-review/ https://parallaxphotographic.coop/kentmere-pan-400-film-review/ https://tahusa.co/analog-film-reivew/kentmere-400/ Think of it as sort of "1950s-60s-chemistry" film that is factory-fresh. Unfortunately, coated only in 135 format (probably also to reduce costs), or I would try it myself. Kentmere was a separate photo products company founded in 1906. Its photography products business/brand was acquired by Harman/Ilford in 2007-8, when Kentmere decided to focus on their packaging business (originally created to make packaging for their own photo products.) https://www.kentmerepackaging.com/history/ Kentmere as of 1996 https://www.iconpublications.com/photon/aug96/kentmere.html Edited June 25, 2022 by adan
Advertisement Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 Hi adan, Take a look here Ilford Customer Survey. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Martin B Posted June 26, 2022 Share #22 Posted June 26, 2022 Survey taken. Severe price increases made me shoot a bit less film and consider cheaper film options (for example moved away from Kodak and other more expensive smaller film brands). Now mostly using film for B&W.

hepcat Posted July 22, 2022 Share #25 Posted July 22, 2022 Actually, there are those of us who shot Vericolor II and III using C-22 processing. But I was only shooting it for a couple of years before CPS came out. Welcome, dear visitor! fotomas Posted July 23, 2022 Share #26 Posted July 23, 2022 Yeah - good old days. With lot's off fine stuff that is gone now. I was shooting lot's of sheet film back then. Here some remains from a project I've done in 2008. Should have taken more such "behind the scenes" shoots. Even some Ilford film shows up;-) Welcome, dear visitor!
