Bilco10 Posted September 13, 2007 Share #1 Posted September 13, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Great news! The 135mm Tele Elmarit (with goggles) gives the correct field of view on my M8 (with a small "safety margin") and is quite easy to focus, even at f/2.8. This is equivalent to a 180mm lens on full-frame film, which Leica invesstigated in the '50s and gave up. These lenses are available quite cheaply, so get one before the demand from M8 users (and the price!) goes up! You will need a shutter speed of 1/180sec or higher. Advertisement Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Hi Bilco10, Take a look here M8 + 135mm lens. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
boilerdoc Posted September 13, 2007 Share #2 Posted September 13, 2007 Too late from what i hear. The price has gone up and the availibilty has gone down! Got mine for ~$399 for the M7 and now use on the M8. Fantastic combo when you need the length. I suppose the new 135 APO is sharper but is problematic re framing. Folks use the focussing patch as a rough estimate but that's very rough. Cheers.... Steve
dspeltz Posted September 13, 2007 Share #3 Posted September 13, 2007 Focusing patch works quite well. I tried to get my lens coded early on and they would do it. No matter.

David The accuracy of framing and focussing with the TeleElmarit's enlarged image has to be seen to be appreciated. You can leave your slr+200mm at home!
