rubenkok Posted September 13, 2007 Share #1 Posted September 13, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Dear collogue Leica camera users, Is there anyone who has used the new LEICA ELMARIT-M 28 mm f/2.8 ASPH. with an analogue camera? I am thinking of buying one for my M6ttl. Is it any good (with M6 or M7)? Is there someone who can show some pictures (made on film)?

rubenkok Posted September 13, 2007 Author Share #5 Posted September 13, 2007 Peter, I'm looking forward to see some puctures here. Jürgen, I'm shure it is GOOD, but I was wondering if it was specially made for the M8. And with the sensor smaller than 24x36mm there could be some vignetting. Daniel, thanks it looks very good and no visible vignetting. Nice site Daniel http://www.danielvonmitschke.com.
vic vic Posted September 14, 2007 Share #6 Posted September 14, 2007 no problems using it on film or digital...... the lens is tinny and cool...... i think in some aspects the sumicron is better and others the new eelmar...... the amazing thing was that the field was streight as u would expect from the finest schneider large format lenses...... that is amazing....... not that summicron is bad at it, but the elmar asph is practically perfect - simple as that......... the open aperture performance is also great and hardly distinguishable from summicron in most cases...... Nice site Daniel daniel von mitschke - photography. actually there is some vignetting wide open, but to be honest i like it. but it's not that easy to handle the 28mm. you have to be very precise, because perspective distortion is a big issue with this focal-length. gmaurizio Posted September 15, 2007 Share #8 Posted September 15, 2007 You definitely CAN use it. It is worst in film than the previous versions, although it has less distortion. Depends on what you will shot, and if you are going to sell those shots. I would go for the older version on film. The 28ASPH is clearly optimized for a shorter image diagonal, as can be found in the M8.
