On the border between two worlds

A small version of a wonderful collection of plants which manage to survive and thrive even though they get submerged two times per day and endure the most changeable conditions.

Seaweed.

M8 and 28 mm Elmarit. Fantastic sharpness and details when blown up to A3. A biologist friend of mine counted over 20 different species in this one picture in 5 minutes and was even sure after that that he missed some. An area of about perhaps 70 cm.

Isn´t nature fantastic?

Yes taken down by the ocean where I live just south of Reykjavik, Iceland. Thanks for the positive comments. My friend the biologist also said that they had identified around 140 different species of seaweed in Iceland. And if you look closely all this diversity is further enhanced by all kinds of creatures, fish, shellfish, various types of crustaceans and lots of creatures I do not even know the names of.
