Advertisement (gone after registration)

Anyone else have issues with registering your M11 on the Leica site?  Box, camera stamp on hotshoe and the certification card inside all have the same SN, but when I enter it in to register my camera I get the error:

The serial number you entered does not match your selected product. Please check your entry and try again. 

First had the horrifying thought that it was perhaps a gray market, but the product number is 202-00 which is the black paint M11.

Curious if anyone else had this problem, and what they did to resolve it.  I also have the same issue with a 21mm Leica lens, but didn't get the same wave run through me on that one.

I had the same problem, and received this reply from Leica, "Regrettably, we have some issues with registering our Leica products at the moment. For unexplainable reasons, relevant product data has not been transferred to our server. Please apologize for the inconvenience."

Comforting, at least.  My immediate thought was I bought a gray market camera

even if it was, how would that affect the serial number ? if it was already registered the message would say that its registered already

As someone who only buys ‘pre-owned’ Leica gear, I get the this product is already registered message about as frequently as I buy stuff.

Reach out to Leica using the link on the registration page and they’ll fix it.

The only way the serial number would be wrong is if it was a counterfeit  Leica not a gray market one AFAIK all the cameras are made in Portugal/Germany.

I have same problem. I tried multiful times to register my m11and failed but brandnew lens no problem. So asked my agency what’s the problem. They said I have to change

A register method such as computer instead of I-phone . In my case I successfully registered my m11 through I-pad.

I still have the same problem as of today. I sent email to Lieca software support in Germany twice and still awaiting their response. Lieca Camera USA support told me that i have to email Lieca software support in Germany to get response and resolution. Still hopeful. It’s been about 20 days since I purchase the Lieca M11

My dealer inquired directly with Leica on this matter.  Leica’s response was that this is “normal”.  The M11 is produced in batches and the serial numbers are manually uploaded into the registration database (apparently more a marketing facility than a manufacturing facility).  So if at first you don’t succeed try again in a few weeks.  You can also email registration to Leica somehow, perhaps through a dealer.  (Not confident of this at all.)

Primitive. But that’s the story on this issue.

I confirm Hey You's finding.  I was able to register my black M11 which I purchased in June.

When I registered the M11 tonight it showed a red error message, but when I went back after trying another version the error message had gone and the submit button was deactivated, so I guess it went through?
