Macro-Ring not in correct postion

TRYing  to shoot macro getting this macro ring not the right positions. Distance meter set to AF. Does anyone know how to fix this, or does it have to go into Leica for repair.

Turn the ring closest to the camera body to Macro. Then, to auto focus, half press the shutter button. Or, to manual focus, depress the little button on the focusing ring to turn the ring to manual focus mode.

Did that. Still only difference back screen went black still notable to to.

Do you have a filter and the hood on?  If so, take them off and try putting the lens in macro mode.

yes. It works fine in normal

same thing it replay the message and screen goes black

Are you saying that you cannot physically turn the macro ring to the Macro position?

If you cannot physically move the ring to the Macro position, and there is not lens cap or lens hood preventing it, then something is wrong with your camera.

I was able to get it to work with macro after I removed what wad 2 filters and hood off. . It's working now, Thanks to all>
