jmm1 Posted May 9, 2022 Share #1 Posted May 9, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) Apologies in advance for a slightly off-beat question: I can see that the Leica Fotos Cable is available separately. Will this work with any camera that has a USB-C Port? I am only asking because currently the only way to achieve this now is to use a Lightning to USB adapter. I have an SL2 and TL2 and to connect to an iPhone - the above adapter is required for a cable connection. I would love to use this cable on a Canon and Sony with the Cascable App or a Hasselblad to Phocus on an iPhone - for true tethered shooting. TIA. Photoworks Posted May 9, 2022 Share #2 Posted May 9, 2022 Simply NO Just for M11 at this point. it will need a supporting firmware.
hmzimelka Posted May 9, 2022 Share #3 Posted May 9, 2022 (edited) Unfortunately not. Its also a pretty useless (at least to me) cable if you quickly need to charge your iPhone since it doesn't transmit power from the USB-C side to Lightning. jmm1 Posted May 9, 2022 Author Share #4 Posted May 9, 2022 Thank you for the replies. So they made a proprietary cable - with a ridiculously positioned USB-C port ( I remember using a base USB-C port on the Fujifilm 50R and thinking how ridiculous - as the cam had to be precariously placed on its side anytime you wanted to use it) I find the downloads via Cable quite slow too. What were the developers/engineers thinking?
elmars Posted May 9, 2022 Share #5 Posted May 9, 2022 They are still thinking. Connectivity is not ready yet. We have to wait till autumn. Then we can judge.
