adan Posted April 6, 2022 Share #2 Posted April 6, 2022 (edited) Nice short! My only critique is that the title/splash graphic is a bit cartoonish, especially give the real sophistication of the other dice graphics and the mood of the other takes. frame-it Posted April 6, 2022 Share #3 Posted April 6, 2022 is Bevil Schwartz still in South Africa?
robb Posted April 6, 2022 Share #4 Posted April 6, 2022 I really enjoyed it and thought it was super. SUPER I’m not a fan of the title text as others said. That small part feels like a YouTube clickbait snap… Did you use the SL2-s in the water? Robb
hansvons Posted April 6, 2022 Share #5 Posted April 6, 2022 @deonvnzl you definitely know what you‘re doing. Great showcase of your talent! And since this a Leica forum, an impressive evidence that the SL2-S is a very capable camera, so are the R lenses.
matted Posted April 6, 2022 Share #6 Posted April 6, 2022 (edited) Wow, great showcase of the SL2s and R lenses when in the right hands (which yours clearly are!). Thanks for sharing. May I ask which R lenses were used in this film? Edited April 6, 2022 by matted

bpLeica Posted April 9, 2022 Share #8 Posted April 9, 2022 Thank you deonvzl for sharing... I'm sure you are well aware of how good of a piece you have made and far be it for me to add any commentary... ... I just felt the need to address some comments about your choice of title design in the thread... I think it was a perfect choice and so in line with the spirit of the subject matter.. so true to the African aesthetic... I'm so glad to have accidentally bumped into it... the end result, the product arising from all the gear and gismos is all that counts... and you have demonstrated the true value of a forum like this
Herr Barnack Posted April 9, 2022 Share #9 Posted April 9, 2022 @deonvnzl Fantastic film! I really like your use of stop action - it's almost as if still photographs have been incorporated. I also like the way you have worked the dice into the film, as a sort of recurring representation of the concept of luck.

LocalHero1953 Posted May 15, 2024 Share #12 Posted May 15, 2024 (edited) This thread should be pinned to the top of the forum, as a riposte to those who say (or imply) that video should be removed from Leica cameras, because they can't do it properly. It's the ability of the SL2-S and its lenses* to make such projects and take stunning stills that makes it stand out. Or, to be less brand specific, that demonstrates both the value of hybrid cameras, and Leica's place in it amongst the leaders. * taking second place to the film maker of course.
