petereprice Posted April 4, 2022 Share #1 Posted April 4, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all, I’m new to this forum so forgive me if this has been asked in the past. I’m wondering if the Voigtlander 50mm f1.2 lens resolves well on high resolution bodies like the M10-R or M11? I can’t get a straight answer from other forums as the experience is mixed. I’m curious for those that actually have experience with the Voigtlander 50mm f1.2 and an M10-R body. How are they together? Would you recommend this combo? Thanks! Advertisement Posted April 4, 2022 Posted April 4, 2022 Hi petereprice, Take a look here Does the Voigtlander 50mm f1.2 resolve on an M10-R?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Alberti Posted April 4, 2022 Share #2 Posted April 4, 2022 No experience with that lens but I notice much my large aperture lenses perform excellently on this high-res sensor. Much better than on the M240. Extreme detail and sharpness. Not seen before (except on the Monochrom).
Jeff S Posted April 5, 2022 Share #3 Posted April 5, 2022 As a new forum participant you might benefit from reading some commentary from Roger Cicala (a respected lens reviewer) that has been referenced before on the topic of lens/camera resolution interactions. In the linked article, skip down to the end Appendix: “Why Perceptual Megapixels Are Stupid”. https://www.lensrentals.com/blog/2019/10/more-ultra-high-resolution-mtf-experiments/ Unless the lens is crap, and certainly the Voigtlander is not, each component will enhance the other. Of course there are important factors that Roger doesn’t discuss that can affect overall performance, and those relate to the user. Different results in different hands… and eyes. PhongNguyen0196 Posted May 31, 2022 Share #5 Posted May 31, 2022 I would lean towards the 50 APO from Voigtlander, price absolutely reasonable, performing neck to neck with Leica finest and designed for high megapixels camera
