Cleaning an M10 Meter?

My M10 meter looked dirty. It looked like it was covered in dust particles that would not blow off with a. blower brush. I used a q-tip with ROR lens cleaning liquid on it, to clean the meter's glass dome(I assume it's made out of glass). I probably should have asked this in advance, but is this OK to do? I assumed yes as this liquid is meant to be used on high-end optics, but then I got to thinking putting a liquid anywhere in the body cavity is probably not a good idea. This liquid couldn't cause corrosion could it? Thanks in advance.

Are you talking about the sensor?  If so, you can buy dedicated sensor cleaning kits which work well if you follow the instructions. It’s simple enough to do but not for the feint hearted admittedly. 
 

If I’m doubt better to find a camera shop that will clean the sensor for you.

Nope. I wasn’t talking about cleaning the sensor. I’m talking about cleaning the glass dome, that gathers light for the light meter, in the bottom of the camera, inside the lens cavity.
