Has there been any update lately?
does it do the jpg well?
do you recommend me in dng?

It all depends on the destiny of your pictures. For social media,  jpegs are fine. For prints on the wall, or for publication, DNGs would be better. You decide, based on your desires.

For latest firmware, consult Leica. I doubt whether any further issues will be made.

Congratulation for your purchase. It was one of my favorite camera. 

To make sure that you have the best image quality from the camera, I strongly suggest you to shoot with DNG.
